James professional affiliations include the National Association of Health Underwriters and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.

James community affiliations include being on the Board of Directors for DeSoto Dining and Dialogue and DeSoto ISD Education Foundation. He is also on the Economic Development Team for the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce.
